TECHNINIER'S SKY INVASION RAISES GAMING STAKES FOR U MOBILE CUSTOMERS WITH RM100,000 WORTH OF PRIZES UP FOR GRABS

Petaling Jaya, 23rd August 2016 - After almost four months of intense competition, the winners of the mobile tournament Sky Invasion, jointly organised by Techninier and U Mobile and co-sponsored by Naza Kia and HTC, were presented with their prizes at a ceremony held at Naza KIA Malaysia PJ Red Cube.

During the ceremony, a KIA Picanto 1.2 AT was awarded to Mr. Peck Chin Fai who beat over 17,000 U Mobile gamers to the grand prize. Apart from the KIA Picanto, 39 other winners also received prizes ranging from Naza motorcycles to HTC devices, gadgets and vouchers based on their scores registered on the live leaderboard. The total prize pool of the mobile tournament is RM100,000. Sky Invasion Mobile Tournament ran for almost four months starting on 12th April and ended on 1st August 2016. To qualify for the tournament, participants need to be a U Mobile customer.

The Sky Invasion tournament garnered 70,000 unique downloads during the 4-month duration and it had more than 35,000 active players in the country and around 50% of them took part in the tournament. Majority of downloads were from Android Google Play Store. The mobile game also received a 4 star rating (4.0) from players. Appannie.com reported that the game managed to achieve Top 14 downloads under the Malaysia Game Arcade category.

During the prize giving ceremony, Techninier's CEO Dato' Lion Peh revealed that the tournament was another major milestone for Techninier due to the success of the tournament, "Techninier is especially encouraged by the response of Sky Invasion Tournament because based on the popularity of the game, Sky Invasion obviously met the high standards of loyal players as they really enjoyed it. As a pioneer developer of mobile games in Malaysia, it is exciting to see demand for mobile games growing tremendously and our in-house developed game well received by the players."

He added that the success of Sky Invasion tournament must also be attributed to the dedicated technical team from Techninier who frequently updated the game app to ensure there are no glitches and that user experience is enhanced with superior rendering.

Dato' Lion Peh also took the opportunity to thank U Mobile for providing quality data service enabling mobile players to enjoy the best gameplay. He also thanked Naza Kia and HTC for being the tournament's co-sponsors.

Yang Berusaha Mr. Norman H'ng, Advisor of Content from Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) was also present at the prize giving ceremony and he said "I'm very impressed with the initiative that has been taken by home-grown company Techninier in spearheading research and development programs which range from application such as mobile games to asset digitalization software. The Malaysian content industry should aspire to be the Googles and Apples of today's digitalized business landscape. Nothing is impossible."

Apart from Dato' Lion Peh, U Mobile's Chief Marketing Officer, Jasmine Lee and HTC Malaysia's Marketing Officer, Cherry Ong were also present to give away prizes to the winners.

Techninier will continue to roll out more mobile game tournament such as the upcoming 'League of Strikers' to ride on the growing interest in mobile games. 'League of Strikers' is a football themed game available on iOS and Android platforms.
