Kuching, Sarawak, 26 July 2019 – iPeople App, a first mobile app in Sarawak to provide a real time communication between the local authority and its people via mobile phone has now been updated to serve as the official mobile app for the Kuching Festival 2019 in Sarawak, Malaysia. The iPeople App is developed by Techninier, one of the leading internet company based in Malaysia.

Kuching Festival is an annual event organised by Kuching South City Council to commemorate Kuching on achieving its “City” status on 1st August 1988 and held to boost local tourism and food industry. This year’s edition coincides with Kuching City 31st anniversary celebration.

There are many activities will be held such as the Kuching Festival Fair (Food Fair), Garden Show, Football Tournament (Mayor’s Cup), Mayor’s Walk, Kuching Zumba Fiesta and many more. The biggest highlight of the Kuching Festival is its 3-weeks long Kuching Fest Food Fair starting from 26th July to 18th August 2019. The Food Fair is made up of 281 stalls selling a wide variety of local and international foods. iPeople App has integrated a food stall directory to provide the list of food stalls as well as the stall map for users to easily locate the stalls and find their favourite foods.

As part of the strategy of digital transformation in Kuching city, the iPeople App was also an official app for Mayor’s Walk 2019 and Kuching Zumba Fiesta. It allows the public to register both events via the iPeople App and participants can present the QR code for the purpose of T-shirt collection.
